Picutes of home office/ guest bedrooms?
Comments (0)I have a small bedroom that used to be a nursery that I would like to make into a home office/ guest room. i purchased a sleeper sofa (full size in a dark brown - almost black leather) and have an old dining table for a dask. Right now the walls are an apple green and they need to go with the dark of the sofa. I'm thinking a tan/ khaki color for the walls. Any tips for how to make this space nice for work and guests? Also- the carpet is a taupe color and will have to stay for now. I like a casual style with traditional accents. Thanks....See MoreHelp me elevate my home office/guest room!

A height-adjustable desk makes it easier to periodically work standing up and break up all that sitting (which can lead to hip and back pain). Get a bigger monitor (or two) and an ergonomic keyboard to be kind to your eyes and wrists. Connect everything to your laptop using a hub. Have storage within arm’s reach to house your headset, notebook, etc. without cluttering up your desktop. Think about a couple of small Bluetooth speakers if you enjoy music in the background while you work....See MoreHome Office / Guest Room

Comments (10)You've put some limits on suggestions since you already have the desk and Murphy bed. If you asked before you got the desk, I would've suggested using perimeter of the room and walls for a shelf/desk that wraps around the window walls.Ikea tabletops could probably do the job or just go to Home Depot and get lumber cut to the right dimensions. Add storage below and wall shelves above. This setup leaves room to open the Murphy bed and leave your exercycle when you don't have a guest....See MoreDipti Paranjape
