Are you looking for a lot of T-shirts like for a 5K race/event, or something personal? I've had better luck with a local vendor than online for printing/screenprinting in almost all instances. Do you know a college student? Ask them who does their frat/sorority t-shirts.

If you are looking for just one shirt, I have had good luck with etsy vendors. Both having them print the shirt and me buying a shirt and having them print an iron on design (I guess the design isn't as durable that way, but I can control the size and fit of the shirt better when I buy it myself and the total cost has been cheaper this way.). I just go off of reviews when I buy on etsy.

My daughter's high school band has used customink.com. After the coordinator sets up the shirt order, each person can order as many as they want and everyone pays online directly to customink, which makes it easy to track orders and collect money. The shirts are fine - the printing holds up better than the ones from a different organization that does them locally.

I just ordered a couple shirts (set up by someone else) on Spreadshirt.com - no idea what the deal is, but you could check.

Not shirts, but I ordered a small quantity of embroidered ball caps from queensboro.com. I was quite happy with the quality and the service. And the price was excellent. They do embroidered and printed apparel. However, you will get daily emails from them forever.
