Samsung Flex Duo Range
Comments (5)Hm, never thought of the opening the door and losing heat from both. However it does have actual self clean as well, 2/3/4 hr cycles, the steam is a seperate 20 minute option. Up until the last few days I was sold on a regular double oven range, but my concerns were not being able to have one large oven if wanted, as well the bottom oven was on the floor so akward to access. Now with this one, I can have one big oven if needed, as well its not any lower than a standard oven. As well it offers the warming drawer underneath and as silly as it sounds, has a child lock which the double I was looking at didn't. However, I've never owned a Samsung appliance and without being able to talk to anyone with this one, it makes me a bit more anxious. Thoughts, love feedback :)...See MoreNew Samsung Flex Duo slide-in double oven range
Comments (9)I am considering this Samsung model #NE58F9710WS. It's the one that is a double oven with one door, but has a divider on the inside of the oven. It also has a warming drawer at the bottom. I've never considered this model until I had a salesman, who owns one, told me how it works. Each section of the oven has a controller where you can set different temperatures or you can heat only 1/2 of it. Both are convection. The only time you would take the divider out is if you were baking something large, like a turkey. I'm getting ready to remodel my kitchen and I'm also thinking about a Samsung refrigerator. I haven't ordered yet, but I'm seriously thinking about it. I would love to hear other opinions on Samsung appliances. Here's a link to the range. http://m.lowes.com/pd/Samsung-Smooth-Surface-5-Element-Slide-In-Convection-Electric-Range-Stainless-Steel-Common-30-in-Actual-29-8-in/50086168...See MoreAny info re:Samsung Dual Fuel "Flex Duo" 2-door range NY58J9850WS/AA ?
Comments (5)Okay, while not installed I did get the electrics wired up so the oven was available. We decided to do a test with a frozen degarno pizza in the upper oven. Quickly found a weakness at least in my opinion. The upper oven uses what would be broiler elements in a full oven for heat. This rapidly over cooked the pizza top while leaving the crust near raw. We put it back in covered with foil to cook the crust. Crispy pepperoni,. Yuuummmmm. I've no idea if normal double oven ranges cook the same way. The rack was on the lower of the two available positions with the divider installed. Maybe if we had put the pizza on the divider itself it would have not been as bad. I don't know. Something to try next time. For now it seems that upper oven dishes will have to be covered. This was on convection bake a few degrees below where we typically set our old oven. Perhaps it should have been lower still. The old oven was not convection so not much experience there. My overall impression as to appearance, fit and finish remain good. The oven vents out the back left of the range top surface. It is fan driven and the noise is very noticeable. The sudden blower noise may just have been a surprise since our old electric oven vent didn't use a fan. The burner grids are nice and heavy though not as heavy as some of the other mid price ranges I saw. They do provide a continuous surface for sliding pots around. I like the big top burner control knobs and the up front control panel that doesn't stick way out as on some slide in models. Looking forward to getting the gas hooked up. Love the looks of the big front right duel heat 22000 BTU burner....See MoreSamsung Duo Flex Gas Range
Comments (2)The knob verses touchscreen is a preference. I was going to get the model prior to this but every model I saw in person the piece that allows the two doors to open as one or two separate doors, was always sticking, damaged, or broken. I only tell you this so you make sure to go to several places and look at them in person. I hope they fixed this issue....See Moremlarchar
