paint the uppers only, a white or mushroom....[putty]…..I think the bottom cabinet area will work with the floor then. The layer of wood cabinetry on the walls is very "heavy" , visually.....regardless of what floor exists. A change at eye level[walls] will change things in a big way. And the wood cabinets lower down will actually be good, as an "anchor" for your space. And get some runners/mats. You lack base drawers..at some point a replacement will come into your discussions..... so extra trouble of painting them isn't worth it.

These are very dark cabinets. The stain is a very dark cherry. Hickory has HUGE amounts of movement (very, very busy...it can have 15 different wood tones in a single floor). That can turn 'country' very quickly. That probably won't pair well with a formal cabinet choice like yours. Be aware that maple turns YELLOW over time. And that can clash with a dark stain such as yours. I always like to pair floors with counter tops. Show us your choice for a counter top. What is the rest of your house like? Is it formal or is it casual? How light or how dark do you want the REST of the home to be? Do you like a dark kitchen? A wood floor with a stain will cause the kitchen to become darker...which is why so many people pair a stark white (blueish white) with such a dark cabinet. And then they will often pair the strong with counter with a strong white floor....simply to offer a kitchen with some light. Please show us some photos as well as some of your inspiration photos. A kitchen has 7 elements that require decisions...a floor is rarely paired with only one element. We'll need to know more about your 5 other choices.

We need to replace the tile floor and countertops in our kitchen. We like the cabinets, and want to keep the carpet in the living room. The walls are SW Kilim Beige. What should be do with the floors? We are looking at LVP LVT CoreTec in a stone design. We are thinking a light gray-ish tan ? For the kitchen countertops would a dark granite be too weird? Any comments are appreciated
