Fiddle Leaf Fig Help. Too much or too little water?

moved into a new house. Put my fiddle leaf fig in the center of a room, getting good light, indirect for most of the day. Then, about two weeks after we moved the leaves started to look like this:

So, thinking that it was too much water, I let it dry out and then started to water with 2-4 cups of water a week. (It is a good sized tree but not huge). Leaves have been falling off from the base of the plant.

Now my new leaves look like this:

What I am doing wrong? Is this still too much water? Not enough water? I used to water much more back in my old house and I was getting lots of new leaves right before I moved. I moved three blocks so the temperature and the light levels are about the same as before. Am I don't something else wrong? I have only had the plant since the end of Feb.
