I need to add color to my boring living room. New build
Comments (28)A statement art piece above the fireplace would be a natural focal point. Try picking at least one color from the artwork and repeating it in details around the room. Also resist the urge to choose an art piece that lines up with mantel edges. Use a piece that is narrower or wider to ensure that the artwork is a feature and not just an extension of the fireplace....See MoreBare boring living room, help
Comments (3)the shades could work w/some drapes. are they cellulars? If you want to do some other shades, then consider doing a white trim, casing, around the windows. it will look much better. like these in this photo. Your sofa looks a little purplish,,cooler toned, next to the wood flooring. to me, they really clash. is that how it is or is it just the lighting in the photo? will you be watching TV in here? if so, where is it going? you don't say what your style is or how much you have to spend. a good rug is needed. coffee table, side table, a larger entry way console table, some art, (more than one).....and I'd also paint your door to match the warmer tones of the room. Actually, black would be a nice choice and would look good next to the floor and white trim....See MoreBig boring living room help!
Comments (0)Just moved in to this rental and need help figuring out what to do with huge long room. not sure where to put chair or if I should get rugs and what other pieces of furniture to get....See Moreliving room,,,, please help the idea to beautify my living room again
Comments (1)What are you willing/able to do? What, specifically, are you unhappy with? Are you considering replacing the furniture? Paint the walls? Without more information it's difficult for me to make suggestions. However, I'd strongly suggest moving that chair away from the draperies/window. And also change the paint color. Is the room as small as it looks in these pictures? If so, that furniture, in my opinion, is far too large. When you say "Beautify my living room again" (again being the word I'm referring to), what did it look like before when you considered it beautiful? I think you've got a lot to work with. It would also probably be a good idea for you to post this also in the Home Decorating Forum....See Morejmorse22
