Window Woes somethings wrong with the way window came in or am I
Comments (7)Angie, Thank you so much for looking that up for me! Its good to know its not just me. The trimline company rep said the install looked pretty good A windowrama tech is coming out to check the hooks and if it was made wrong then a trimline tech will be sent out - but trimline doesn't make the trim it seems and the windowrama salesman is claiming he never told me it would look like the samples on display - which he did when I asked and even if he didn't shouldn't the sales staff let the customers know they are getting something different from the display model? I am getting really frustrated now!...See MoreSunrise, Marvin, and window shopping woes
Comments (11)WOW, thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, the regional Sunrise rep told me I can't get any of those. No Vanguard, no sash reinforcement on the base Sunrise. The only dealer in my area is a regular Sunrise only dealer. The regional rep says sash reinforcement is not an option I can add and not to worry because under 25 mph winds I should see no difference. Am I not using the magic words to get sash reinforcement as an option? (Is plain Sunrise the same as Verde?). Thankfully, I knew from all of you on here to not even look at Essentials. Thank you so much for your help....See MoreWindow woes, options for replacement/fixing.
Comments (1)Pretty normal in this case that the spacer (i.e. glass edge) is the more conductive surface. Broken seals should be covered for more than a year, but I can't (based on this picture alone) discern if there is anything wrong with the window....See MoreWindow Woes - 4 years in & still can’t decide
Comments (8)Thank you all for your comments! And thank you RL for the picture mock up. So cool! Your comments have helped us to see things that we easily over looked such as the shutters and black hole that is our front door. Much appreciated and will help us to make improvements to the overall look of our homes exterior. To answer some of your questions ... The function of the window that needs to be replaced is a bedroom. The little window in the leak can definitely be changed to a vent instead. Any suggestions? The lights on either side of the door are brown. Something I have wanted to change - at least painted black? Can I bounce some questions back? Our double front door is wood. Would it be worth the effort to strip the coat of black paint (looks like only one coat) and then stain it, keep it natural? Or just paint it a different colour as suggested. Our brick is more of an orange-red (pictures were taken just before a big storm, everything looks darker). We are grateful for any additional suggestions to improve the overall look of the front exterior of our home. Thanks!...See MorePinebaron
