End of the year sales
Hello everyone...
when I signed up with Hallsons there was a standard message ... Bla bla sign up to never miss out on sales.
Could anyone tell me if and which time around those online stores you all like
to shop for special hostas have sales?
since I am just starting to collect even the “older” probably boring ones for you are interesting for me.
speaking of sales ... English Gardens drew me into the store today with a sales flyer saying all perennials are 40%+ an other 10% off if you are a member (you have to buy that membership. We get it for free with our BCBS health care card). Anyways I didn’t see a single plant that was 40% off :-( everythomg was 30% some nice hostas, but the ones I liked came in a big container and where $50-85. Actually Spartacus was $85, which is one of the plants I pulled out of the ditch for free. Felt like I won the lottery again.
did get a small container of Japanese forest grass for $20.00. I wanted that for 3 years and never justified spending so much money on grass, but I had to buy something right ... otherwise the trip was for nothing lol

Although very healthy, mine is still quite small - delicate little canes but grows well and I will probably leave her in a pot for some time, just to make sure she is strong enough to go in the ground. Comments (2)Here is the description from when they had them up for auction. "Hosta 'Mysterious Stranger' [M] (Naylor Creek Nursery) These are some plants that came from the tissue culture run on H. 'Stephen King'...they don't look anything like the parent. We have grown them about 3+ years thinking of maybe having them produced in tc but have decided against it. Color is dark, form is upright, the leaves are very wavy and show some of the best serration we have seen (probably has some of the same genes as H. 'Jaws'). Substance is good and they still look great at this time of the year.
