It's hard to picture what your plan is just thinking 4x4. I think if you build the frame (log cabin type?) with no gaps and set the liner in, the outside wood would support the liner enough that you shouldn't have to worry about tears too much. What are you putting down between the wood and liner to prevent splinters or catches to damage it? In ponding, people use sand. But you couldn't do that with a straight edged above ground pool. If it were me, I'd make a ledge that extends 2 to 3 inches from the perimeter of the frame, fold the liner over and curl it under that ledge. It might help to have enough excess to fold that liner over at the edge to give extra support - and then I would use a thin strip of wood to pad between the screw heads and the liner itself, and would help to keep the liner in place between the screws. Here, like this: But there I am assuming that you mean to stack the 4x4's horizontally on top of one another, and brace vertically from the outside? Well, I've never done that before or anything, just off the top of my head it's what I came up with. Maybe you'd be better to ask a pool person. Hope you figure it out though!

MrsHanson, we have an above ground pool which we put inground in 2005. It is not one of the brands which are designed for inground, however, we decided to take the risk and see what happened. Since installation, we have invested a 10 foot aggregate surround around the pool. We know that when the liner goes, so goes the entire pool because it will collapse. We had a leak in the liner two years ago, and a great deal of water was leaked, but fortunately, my husband was able to find the leak and patch it. Ours sticks out above the ground about one foot. Keeping our fingers crossed for this year! But, we feel seven years has given us great return on the investment. I will be happy to post a picture of it if you would like, we just took the cover off for summer and it appears a little green, but when clear, it's a beautiful crystal clear blue pool! I will look up the brand as well if you are interested. It's 33x18, and was very inexpensive. Hope this helps! and good luck

bonding is to connect all the metal in and around your pool and the water itself with a ground wire. grounding is for the equipment. the 8' rod is a grounding rod for electrical equipment and a j box is the abbreviation for junction box where wires are connected. copper is very expensive. I've just put in a 54" above ground pool. Now I'd like to plant some shrubs - especially to hid the filtration system but not too large. The site is in partial shade. Any suggestions?
