Has anyone's kitchen come together without a glitch?
Comments (23)Another piece of advice make sure if you have your appliances picked out make sure you or your builder or GC has all the trades installing the framing, ducting, electrical and cabinets in the proper way and correct locations for your appliances. Make sure what you pick out will work in your space and the installers know how to do it. Or too many times the workers without telling you the problem will just try to wing it to make it work any old way without a care in the world as the homeowner gets to have a job that wasn't done right. My range hood installation did not go well today. The venting duct was originally placed incorrectly too low on the wall for my range hood. Even when the builder and all trades had my appliance specs and install directions before even framing started on our house. So instead of telling me it was wrong the installer today installed the range anyway 5 inches below the manufactuer's minimum distance thinking it was no big deal. Not acceptable and dangerous. So now to fix it and have it installed properly the ducting needs to be moved up affecting our stucco on the back of our house and now the glass tiles need to be replaced where they were drilled into too low. I really just don't get why these trades just can't get it right, ever....See MoreHouzz glitch last night?
Comments (2)Thanks for the post. I wonder how well the folks at Houzz talk to each other. I found that while I was composing the initial post around 10:15 a.m., that I got a response from Houzz for a question I sent around 11 pm last night asking what happened and alerting them that gardenweb was down. The Houzz response was the generic 'gardenweb has moved to Houzz etc' but nothing about a problem. Then, as I was/am composing this post, I see another response to my (duh, yes I know about Houzz......) response, to their poor response; saying: The system was going through an update as we transitioned the site completely over to Houzz. We apologize for the inconvenience and will ensure that this happens minimally as we finalize the transition....See MoreIs there a glitch today on Houzz?
Comments (10)When that happens on Firefox, I switch to Chrome, which usually is better. For me, I think it's when my less than adequate internet service slows down too much to load the page completely (like at 3 pm when kids start coming home from school and get on the internet at home, or at 9 pm when people start trying to stream videos - an iffy proposition when you have bad internet options)....See MoreWhat do you think has changed with Houzz?
Comments (12)IIRC, when we received the notice about the message system changing it mentioned being able to include photos and attachments. That hasn't changed for me--using either GW or Houzz url, I don't see those options. I see the like button, and the email, but I don't know if the email option is new. I don't see a follow button. If one hovers over another member's name the follow option is still there (assuming the member allows following)....See More- 8 years agolast modified: 8 years ago
