I can use the spacebar but no punctuation or special characters. Strange how its different for us.

I'm not sure about the glitch, but I see "Explore Topics" is now alphabetized. I'm doing ok with the new format. Is it "better?" Not sure, maybe just different.

I just started a new thread, complaining about the menu just slipping down without my requesting it. I had as the subject "drop down menu" and of course that was not long enough, so I added some xxx. Now it is nowhere to be seen. Thought I had followed directions and it seemed to accept the longer subject, but it is nowhere to be seen.

I have zero problems (don't dislike it)with the new format..... except the posting problems some of us are having.

OK, someone walk me through this! I posted again, while in the KT, and this one, too, does not show up. Baby steps, please.

I still cannot figure out a way to make the "view" the way I want it.

Phyllis, a few others were having problems with their posts not showing up. Maybe they will chime in and say whether or not there's still a problem for them.

I posted a trial and it just too a while for it to appear. Not as fast as it was previously before this change.

I can not start a post using my Internet Explorer and I shouldn't have to switch browsers when IE is what I use most of the time. I sure hope Houzz will fix that.

I've had a few "slow to appears" too.

As a test, I found some text on the web and quoted it.

I started a topic in "Test". It took a few minutes to appear.



Then I tried starting another topic in "Test". I used pretty much the same text as before except this time I didn't edit out the profanity.

That topic has not appeared and I'm guessing it won't.



I suspect Houzz has incorporated a profanity filter into their code and posts are run through the filter before appearing publicly.

When the server is not busy, the post passes through the filter quickly and the delay is not noticed.

When the server is busy, the delay becomes noticeable.

I don't know if replies are also scanned or only original posts.

Or even if any are. I might be totally wrong. I'm just guessing wildly. :-)

No the posting a thread glitch has not been fixed for me. I tried again today and gave up. I am on an Android and apparently that makes a difference. When I write a thread that I'm going to post my words disappear. Someone said that using punctuation affected their words. In other words if you used a period the words would disappear. I didn't notice exactly that but I think that's what happens to me. Other people have other problems but there are still problems. Too bad.

This is going to drive me to drink...chocolate milk. Actually I think I could go for a small (ok medium) 1% with Hershey syrup...

I tried another time on the test forum but no luck it's still not working. It deleted letters and words really can't make any sense in the body of the post. Going back and replying to it works.

Just curious. Until Houzz fixes the "deleted letters and words" problem properly, does disabling the mobile version and forcing a desktop version help?

I'm not a device person so I'm just taking a wild stab at it.

I have no issue with scrambled or disappearing words. My problem is inability to post through Internet Explorer. I can put in my topic, then add my message, but when I click on "next" it goes nowhere. It all works fine when I use AOL, which I prefer not to do.

Well, it looks as though I'm not the only one having the problem of thread starting.

The same thing happens to me when I try to start a post like lgmd_gaz said. When I click "next" nothing happens.

I have not been able to post a new thread. Have tried several times, starting last Thurs or Friday. I get it all typed in and then hit "Next" or "Submit" or whatever the button is.. and .... nothing.

Nope...I thought it was going to work but I still get stuck at NEXT...Nothing happens after that for me :-(

Same as above. I get stuck at "next" too. My screen greys out at that point and nothing else will happen. I have to close the window to get out of it.

I have to say, this new forum is just a delight.

The second try was a charm for me. Since the KT is already checked, I hit 'next' without looking at the list and it was successful. I guess I'm just lucky?

Having the screen grey out after hitting Next is even worse than my disappearing words!

It sure seems that quite a few of us are still having problems trying to start a post. I really hope Houzz gets this corrected for us no matter what kind of browser or device we are using.
