I bathed one project - "Shea's Tower" while the mortar was wet w/watered down colorant I bought from Delphi Stained Glass. They're expensive in the group - about 30 something, and I didn't use all the colors. I used Tints All on one section of the tower to test it. I'm told by another experienced artist that it is the only colorant that w/last outside. You can Google grout colorants and get lots of links, but here's Tints All link. Tints All

I think gray is nice with pink. Just for your future projects: do you know about putting some dry grout on a small area of your piece to get a sense of how that grout color will look? its a bit messy but can save a piece from being grouted the wrong color. Kathy

I've changed grout color three times in my life. Once, literally drilled out black grout. Uggh. Never again. The second time we were in Korea and the oily soot from the oil heat was in the grout in all the tile. It would not come clean even wtih muriatic acid. SO.... I cleaned it as good as I could then carefully painted all grout lines with primer and then with oil based paint. It looked perfect even when we left. Everyone marveled at how clean our house looked compared to theirs. And lastly, my kitchen was as yours. I put a page up online to show how I darkened the the grout and since I've done it, I've sealed it and it's wonderful. I didn't choose the wrong color, the charts just didn't produce what it said the product color would be. Link to the page is attached. Oh, that's too bad. The same thing happened with my bath tiles - the tiler fixed it but not sure what he did. I know there are grout colorants available. Can you ask your tile setter (if it wasn't you)? Ask, too, at the place where you bought your tile if they can recommend a product.
