Need help for replacing non-standard vanity

I had to rip out a vanity that is 35 1/2" wide and 34" to top of the vanity. There is a pony wall to the right which is maybe 8" higher than the vanity top. I can't seem to find anything in big box stores to replace it. Any ideas? The wife is set on having some storage as well. I'm leaning towards one of the floating vanities but with the pipes exiting the floor, it may not be an option. Thanks in advance!

with non-standard sizes, you can..

a) look for a custom work(cabinetmaker). may be worth it. depending on size, complexity/simplicity, and material chosen-can be doable in terms of money. Ready made charge a lot for vanitiies nowadays without these being anything special. So that's a route worth checking.

b) find a store that sells ready made but is okay with cutting it to your specifications. won't be same quality and give as many options as custom-and you'd probably have to install it yourself/ask somebody to. But might be good enough.

They'll have much less choices in terms of finish etc.

c) always check your local Craigslist, you might be pleasantly surpized. Again might be needed to be a bit tweaked..also, delivery(/bringing it, hassle etc. Yet stiil a good idea.

d) if you're ready for even more headache and love the look-a piece of furniture can be converted into vanity. Again, more time or more money, most likely both.

Any kitchen design shop on the planet has thousands of choices. You just have to walk in the door and talk to people. And be able to cut and install a filler to go between the cabinet and wall. Or pay for the installer to do so.

I agree with checking for remnant granite. I purchased a remnant piece with an ogee edge, they cut it to 37" for me, and cut the holes for my copper vessel sink and single hole faucet for a total of $170. This included the back- and 1 wall- splash. The purchase was made out of a fabricators 'bone pile' and had been miscut for a kitchen island originally. Best of luck on your renovation! Sandy

Thanks, pal. This was originally built as a kit house, so I'd be surprised if it weren't the simplest and most common size; I was just surprised because 2" seems like a pretty significant difference! The 58" is from sheetrock-finished wall to sheetrock-finished wall, measured outside of the tub, in front of the fiberglass surround. The fiberglass parts appear to be very thin, maybe half an inch (I didn't take the fiberglass into account in my measurements). So, would your explanation hold even in this scenario?

I need non-standard replacement deck boards

I just finished redoing my old cedar deck. It had developed surface cracks all over. A few were cracked all the way through and I had to replace those. But for all the rest of the deck I found a product called Elmers oudoor wood filler that was stainable at Lowes Hardware. I had a kid sand and renail those boards and fill the cracks with that product. Then he resanded the filled places and stained the deck. I can tell you it was a ton cheaper than replacing the deck boards (the few I replaced cost me $400 for about 12 boards about 12 feet long in construction heart redwood). The filler doesn't match perfectly but at the age of my deck it looked fine. I used Cabot's Australian Timber Oil in flame mahogany. Everyone comments that it looks great.

Unscrew the hose connector and attach a new hose to it that goes from the new sink. Bring that piece that you remove with you to get the right hose size. Use an adjustable wall plate cover to hide the hole around the pipe, the pipe is usualy 1/2". Easy to install.
