baby incrassata update cont'd.
Comments (6)lol I think it's too soon to tell for sure. You know how it is... a young leaf can look very different from its mature form. Even distinctive trends like you're seeing now can be completely reversed or transmuted by the time the leaves are fully fleshed out. And incrassata leaves have always struck me as looking very different as adolescents. It's one of those where I can't tell what plant I'm looking at if I am holding onto a young vine. Idk if you're on Facebook, but there was a recent discussion of 'how long it takes to know what a seedling is going to look like' on Hoyas 101. Looks like you're doing a great job growing them tho! ^_^...See Moreupdate on my babies
Comments (7)What type of adenium are those? I'm new to adeniums but all of yours look good to me congratulations on the germination rate. You did a real good job. Do you think you can put a guide on how you grew these or just give me tips? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks...See MoreSansevieria Lane update! Complete!
Comments (14)Saltdesert, do you know about sansevieria collector Angel R. in Hawaii and that there is a branch of the International Sansevieria Society there? I don't know which island they're on but I can probably find out. With your interest in sans, it'd be a shame not to get in touch with folks in the branch. They have a website, let me know if you need a link to it. Also, are you aware of a historic, massive sansevieria planting in Hawaii in the 1950s by fiber researchers of the USDA? This was at Koko Crater and it was declared a Botanic Garden at some point later. The fiber project was abandoned by the USDA shortly after it was started when synthetic fibers like rayon and dacron were developed. The sans plantings still exist and Koko Crater might be a good field trip for you. Sansevieria pioneers Ed and Alva Eby lived there for decades and were self-appointed caretakers of the sansevierias after they were abandoned, I know Alva has passed now and Ed might be as well, last I heard he had moved to the US northeast where his son lives. There might be signage at Koko Crater about the Ebys. If you ever get there, I'd be interested to know about signage and the condition of the plantings. Comments (5)Seems that all greenleaved ones are picking up - and variegated are still in limbo. May be you will collect them in separate trays and continue feeding? I would be trying to wake them up - may be repot... extra TLC. But - if all green leaved survive - you will oodles for spring...they are already need to be spread....See MoreStush2049 Pitts.
