Weeping Cherry, all flower almost no leaves
Comments (0)I have a 40 year old weeping cherry tree that has some unusual behavior this year. The tree was a little late blooming (as most trees in the East this year) but there are very few leaves. There are many weeping limbs that are bare. I know it is not much to go on. I can post pics if that will help. Any idea what could be causing this issue? I am a little concerned as I had to cut a 30 year old dog wood last year. It bloomed but the leaves and flowers were the size of a dime. As I cut it down, I found an infection running down the middle of the trunk....See MoreWeeping Cherry tree bloomed but no leaves yet...
Comments (3)cherry blossom is incredibly short lived in my z5 ... a couple days at best ... it was near done blooming when you bought it.. and the transplant finished it off for this season ... in my z5 the flower buds are incredibly sensitive to frost/freeze after winter.. and prior to bloom ... your annual show will vary based on such ... all you should be worried about .... is getting it to live thru summer.. and you should be all set .... where is two face.. TO THE BATCAVE.. lol .. ken...See Moreweeping cherry leaves with holes?
Comments (2)spraying will do absolutely nothing to cure what is already there... insure full fall cleanup of all dropped leaves .... and following spraying instructions EXACTLY .. should you go that route... all that said.. ITS AUGUST.. everything in my garden looks a little beat up..i say.. so what ... rarely do things die from bugs.. or disease ... though i do admit.. i never diagnosed this one.. i would have said JBeetles.. lol ... i simply dont waste the time.. nor money ... to deal with it ... this time of year .... and if you never saw it before.. there is probably an argument.. that you dont need to spray next year ... it being one of the vagaries of ma nature ... ken...See MoreMy Weeping Cherry has blooms - finally!
Comments (5)Thanks, it is pretty, I just hope it survives our summers...I bought 3 of them last year at the Lowes after the season sale. The 2 pink ones aren't doing quite as well but do have some blooms. Someone said they had 2 die on them a couple years ago so...fingers crossed so far so good!...See MoreEmbothrium
