Help with mirror over console
Comments (9)Thank you for your feedback. I love the idea of art instead of a mirror! I have one existing painting and am using teal as an accent color, so I guess the new art would have to compliment both of those. Here are some photos of the space and a close-up of the painting I have over the fireplace (it could be moved over the console). The pics are a little dark, but I hope you can get the idea. I am going to be painting the room a lighter color (Revere Pewter, I think). I could remove or replace the sconces at that time if that would be better. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the rug but haven't tackled that yet....See MoreMinimum mirror size for 78-inch-wide console table?

Comments (7)Bigger is better as you're realizing. The console can be as wide as 75% of the space between the blue tape and the bedroom door. Then the mirror can be as wide as 75% of the console's length and should hang 5" above it. Does that help? Don't forget a striking area rug and light fixture! Do you still have matching paint to use on the vent above so it fades into the wall?...See MoreMirror size over console/buffet
Comments (6)Hi, always … I’m probably a bad person to answer this because I hate doing math and measurements. I eye everything. :D If you’re really into things looking more balanced, these work well: I don’t know exact numbers, but you can see they’re sort of half the table width. You could cut a piece of cardboard out in various sizes to get an idea. These break the rules, but to me, look pretty cool and creative. So it's really just personal preference — taking the whole room into consideration, what style the mirror is, what kind of look you like, etc....See MoreLampsUSA.com
