I found this topic, and although an old post I thought I would share my experience with costs. I am having a 1000 SF patio installed, which includes a 800 SF patio area, with a retaining wall and steps which connect to a lower 300 SF patio area. We are using a manufactered 3.5" paver that looks like flagstone. Due to existing water/basement issues, my project also involved substantial regrading about an additional 600 SF of area, installation of pipe/pop ups for my 2 roof gutters. This project is also incorporating some basic landscaping of the non patio area (i.e., mulch, and about 25 One gallon plants and 5 Rhododendron bushes) The average cost per SF installed for my job is $17/SF for the patio area. My total project cost is around $18K. Its a HUGE amount for an outdoor project to me, but I have a large clean finished outdoor space area that I expect will help when I go to sell my home in 6-7 years and hopefully address my basement water issues. My project did involve a lot of stone and regrading. I also am happy with the pace of work my contractor proceeded at. From notice to proceed to the 90% complete point was less than 2 weeks, which included rain days!

$250 to $375 for a pristine unit of that vintage.

I guess I don't know of another option other than having it carved, since I need it in walnut. I haven't found anything online that's massed produced that has walnut as a choice of wood. I found one guy online who carves finials, out of whatever wood you want, but am waiting to hear a quote from him. I guess that's why I was curious what something like that would cost. I have no idea how long something like that would take, what the labor rates should be, and what the wood costs.

I'm in suburban Philadelphia and also doing a small kitchen. But I'm acting as my own GC and KD. I designed the layout, hired a custom cabinet maker (solid maple and oak construction), electrician, plumber, window company. Plus I've done most of the buying of my own supplies (faucet, backsplash tile, lights, even switches and outlets, hood, range). Some online and some locally. Custom Cabinets Quartz Countertop One Window (keeping floor - it's slate) GE Profile Range Hood (new install) sink and faucet electrical work plumbing - just new under sink (old corroded) carrera marble subway backsplash I'm up to ~$22-23K at this point (they are down there drywalling as I write!) I think I saved a LOT of money doing it this way but it's been very time consuming for me to keep track of all the details and make every decision. I also have really good contractors. Lived in this area many years so the plumber and window people are our 'regulars', the electrician works with my DH and does this as a side job. The cabinet maker is a funny story. Recommended by a colleague whose wife works with BOTH of the wives of the carpenters! I'm in research and colleagues wife is at another local research institute. It's a brother/brother-in-law operation and they've done quite a few kitchens for the local scientific community and everyone raves about them. OH, and I'm having a rather large pantry (8 doors) in a hall off the kitchen reframed and hung with matching doors. So it seems I've about spent your quote without the floor, design work or arch, but including one appliance. Hope this helps you somewhat. Good luck!
