Edible gourds looking good

I've started some edible gourds, this year. Has anyone else tried them? They seemed to be growing quite vigorously before the transplant, and they seem to be adjusting quite well, so far. I just transplanted mine on Saturday, but they're still looking good.

I'm growing these:

* Kikinda Competition Strain (three plants in one spot)

* Serpente di Sicilia (one plant in one spot)

So, I read that they can taste like zucchini, but that the squash bugs don't like them. I decided to see if it were true, and what I think. They're also supposed to have cool white flowers that open at night (for moths to pollinate). The seeds look pretty cool, too.
