Comments (7)Beautiful pics of beautiful daylilies. Looks like it was a nice gentle rain. We had rain this AM that just riddled the blooms. Can't take any pics they look so bad. My favorites of these are I SEE STARS and ROYAL CELEBRATION. They are all beautiful though. Thanks for sharing them. Lrae...See MoreTuesday Pics, before and after the rain.
Comments (15)WOW ,,RITA; That first photo is absolutely breathtaking.Just gorgeous. And the second photo of the Lilies is gorgeous, too...Well,I was wanting to see a close up photo of the Oriental lilies.I thought several thats in my back yard was Oriental Lilies, but, no, they not.At least they look nothing like any you have. The foliage is different, and spreads out to make big plants, and I hate the things. They have been cut down so many times, and they come right back. They have huge stalks, but soon as a flower shows up, they fall over on the ground.Ran over them with a lawn mower and cut them off to the ground and 2 weeks later they back up with bloom stalk. I love that TIKAL MAID . its beautiful, and BARNEY IS GORGEOUS.I love that one the most. MALAYSIAN MARKETPLACE is gorgeous, too..You really have some beauties.I am glad you posted BARNEY again,as I think hes beautiful. Comments (9)Your wife did a fine job on the barrel! We have the rain alright, and a rain barrel. It isn't hooked up and doesn't have such a great overflow. I want it simple and straightforward like yours, not over engineered like my DH tends to do. Built like a bomb shelter is not my thinking, you know. I'm afraid to mention it to him, so there it sits. Several times this spring we got more than 5-8 inches of rain....once it was 3 inches an hour if I recall. So the barrel would fill up and overflow quite often. BUT, before next spring for sure I'll have it operating. I bought two when we had a very dry summer in 2012, and after that we had no drought. So there they sit....See Morepics after tonight's rain..
Comments (17)pandora..last fall I left some caladiums in the pots and some I dug up wrapped in newspaper and stored in a shoebox..I left just one pot with elephant ears and dug up all the other EEs but I'm considering leaving everything in the pots this year..it's easier.. oursteelers..thanks!!..a good rain was just what I needed..I have big scale trees, shrubs and perennials so to me big pots with big tropical plants fit right in.. lindalana..I decided it was better to have one big aisle instead of 2 smaller ones so I started at the edges and worked towards the middle..we have broad shallow steps and you don't need a handrail to go up or down..the view from the kitchen is great!.....See Morenicholsworth Z6 Indianapolis
