That must be it. Strange that she hasn't layed any eggs for months. But then it is winter and out of 18 hens I am only getting between 9 & 12 eggs a day. Maybe she just stopped for the winter? Maybe she needed more light then I gave her? I got a second blue egg today. If they can't change the color egg they lay then you are right and I am confused!! lol. Wouldn't be the first time. I'm just happy to be getting blue eggs again. Thank you for your help. Stacy

Definitely not a bluebird. A juvenile (1st year) bluebird would have primaries, primary coverts, secondries and tail feathers that are blue. The back would be heavily spotted and the spotting on the front would extend all the way down to the belly and sides of the bird. This bird shows none of those characteristics but is a dead ringer for a Swainson's Thrush. If you do a google search for juvenile Eastern Bluebird and you will see the characteristics I mentioned above. Hope that helps. BN

If you have something -- fabric, tile, etc. that you can take with you to Lowe's, maybe they can mix up a custom color for you. You say you only have access to Lowe's paints, but if you find a paint chip by another like Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, etc. you can take the chip you like to Lowe's and ask them to mix the color for you. Duron (now SW) Noonday Tide is a very pretty airy aqua that I once used on the beadboard ceiling of my front porch. You may want to look at the "whites" in Lowe's where there may be some pale aquas that can be altered for you.

When comparing the color of the egg in AJ's photo to the colors on my fan deck, I can see several colors that might work well. I would look in the area of the numbers/names I've posted. I know there are a lot but all of them have similar coloring. These are the first set of 3 on 4 different cards. Retiring Blue, Swimming & Spa have a tad more green it them but it lessens with each card. The lighting in your room is what will determine which one if any can work for you though.
