Comments (9)Hi GreenDesigns and Renovator8 Thanks for your input. Sorry to mislead you, Renovator8 with the title. At this point we can only make a few changes to the house (i.e. move the odd wall)as we are about 90% finished the framing stage. Although a bump out addition to accommodate the entrance would be considered, or even a porch if that would help. We have to work with the split entry, raised bungalow that we are adding on to. These kinds of entrance ways come with the design of the house I am afraid. GreenDesign, my option 2 does involve increasing the sqare footage of the entranceway by increasing the width by two feet (the new space would be taken from a study beside and part of a garage below since it is a storey and a half). I would love to add on to the entrance way more through a bump out, but I think my options are limited. At present when the concrete stairs are added back on, the man door to the garage comes quite close to the start of the stairs. Therefore if we bumped out the entranceway, we would not be able to get in the man door which our family will use everyday since the mudroom will be from the garage entrance. Let me know if you think of anything that would work. Thanks, Carol...See MoreNeed neighborhood design help
Comments (0)I am in charge of planting at the entranceway to our neighborhood. I have a limited budget of about $150. for the annual summer planting. There are two areas like the one in the picture, so only $75. per side. One side gets morning sun and the other side gets afternoon sun. We are located on Cape Cod. I would love some suggestions. Thanks!...See MorePlease help me find an entryway table.
Comments (7)You definitely have some space limitations, but I can understand wanting an entry table in the space. The Lincoln Glass Top Console Table from Pier 1 is what we chose for our narrow hallway, but it's 36" which may be a bit much for that 38" wall. It is only 10" deep, though, which makes it pretty much the least imposing table that I could find when I was searching. The fact that it's glass topped does seem to help keep the look of this console a bit more "open" than if it were all wood. It's a nice sturdy little table and we've been very pleased with it in our home....See MoreHelp spruce up my patio entrance
Comments (6)I'd put a matching pair of tall floor plants in front of the windows next to the patio door. In the center of that room, I would put a round table with a dramatic floral arrangement or art object, such as one would find in the lobby of a swanky hotel. Possibly a sign, if you are into that sort of thing, over the patio door or over the door leading from the living room....See Morerelyn
