Comments (1)You've got two different issues here. First, the apartment complex may or may not be at fault. Check your lease carefully--there may be a clause that they are not responsible for damage to your vehicle or that parking is at your own risk, etc. If they can be held at fault, you will eventually get your money back. If they can't be held at fault, then you are out of luck. Second, what kind of insurance do you have in California? Where I live, I'd contact my insurance company, which would collect the deductible from the apartment complex if they were found to be at fault. I would *have* to go through my insurance--the contract states that I have to inform them of any damage to the car. Yes, I could avoid that step, but it might come back to haunt me in the future. You need to check your lease, California law and your insurance policy....See More? About River Birch Trees
Comments (4)Leslie, When I moved here 5 years ago I brought a really big flower pot with me that had a plant growing in it and also something had come up from a seedling out of nowhere. I talked to the landscaper here and he told me it is a River Birch. It was only about 12 inches high and healthy, so they took it out of the pot and planted beside a low spot in the back yard that catches rain water. He said that was a perfect spot for it. Now it is 5 feet tall and healthy. The only thing I've done for it is to throw a handful of Osmocote on it once or twice a year. It will drop yellow leaves as it gets colder and winter comes. Try some osmocote and see if that helps. Good luck. Sue...See MoreRiver birch tree bark falling off
Comments (11)It will rebark itself for protection right? ==>>> are you asking if its genetically capable of surviving without your interference ... lol .. one would hope so ... e.g. bark of young maples is smooth ... maybe upwards of a decade ... but sooner or later.. and we always have to think in tree time ... the bark matures and changes ... it doesnt necessarily mean anything is wrong ... its not a great link.. but see the differences https://www.google.com/search?q=bark+of+young+maples&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjciu_bzP_NAhXix4MKHe4KBgYQ_AUICCgB&biw=968&bih=745&dpr=0.9 i am still wondering about being planted like a telephone pole.. and wonder how deep the root flare is ... another link ... https://www.google.com/search?q=bark+of+young+maples&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjciu_bzP_NAhXix4MKHe4KBgYQ_AUICCgB&biw=968&bih=745&dpr=0.9#tbm=isch&q=root+flare sooo ... my bottom line ... its not some hundred foot tree hanging over your house.. so no immediate need to do anything proactive.. unless you are interested enough to pull back some of that soil and grass around the trunk and find out about that ... but again .. in tree time.. it may or may not be an issue... within a decade or so ... ken...See Morefjguy33
