Can you tell me about Dupuy Jamain?
Comments (8)Thanks for reminding me of that safer solution, Christopher. Years ago I had many roses that needed fungicides to stay healthy enough during the short growing season to survive my zone 4 winters - but when I moved here to zone 5 a few years ago I promised myself to simplify both the numbers of plants I had and their care. And so far I seem to have made good choices because of the 60-some roses in my garden here none have needed help with any spray to stay healthy and I'm really hoping I won't have to resort to even the Cornell spray to keep Dupuy Jamain healthy, too. So, DJ is planted in my sandy ground now, has lots of air space around it and it seems to be OK (except for the distorted leaves on the upper part of the plant.) Temperatures have moderated here to the upper 60's, low 70's for a while and we're getting rain every few days according to the 10 day forecast. I'm hoping that suits it fine and I'll see if it shakes this off as summer progresses. Thank you Gryhwk for that beautiful photo. That's what I'm hoping to see someday....See MoreSouvenir du Docteur Jamain
Comments (39)SdDJ was one of the first to pop up perfect little rolled up leaves after I defoliated my roses this year. Within a couple days, it seemed. This is a rose I anticipate seeing the most this spring. Enjoying a light rain... Violette liked being naked also. Popped out new foliage almost right away. Aren't they cute? These are planted to intermingle with each other and Dark Desire. I don’t know if Violette will bloom this year, as it’s very new, but I think it will be spectacular once all are blooming together. Can’t wait!...See MoreSouv Dr Jamain finally coming into his own!
Comments (23)When it starts to bloom again each summer, I always thank Vita Sackville-West for reintroducing it to commerce. The scent and shape of the blooms make it one of my favorites, not to mention the color...which my camera struggles to capture. It has decided to send out a bunch of new canes this year!...See MoreA few pix, mostly Rhodologue Jules Gravereaux

I can't wait :) I bought RJG, this is how it looks like as a whole bush . I got it this month. It smells has a sweet scent to me. I move it to a bigger pot but temporary till I put it to ground. This was taken a few days ago . Right now it just stop raining and I took a few more. Top view Below is side view Thank you for recommending.
