While I prefer somewhat neutral rugs it looks like your dining room needs color. A rug will warm things up. What others colors in the rest of your home? Not in your question, however, I think I would replace the two pieces of art you have there with perhaps one more colorful & interesting.

Other colors in my home are red, black, and white. I do have a colorful abstract art that I can switch out. I’ll try that and see how it looks. Thanks!

I'm always team rug. A good rug will always enhance a space.

If you do find one you like online, order the smallest size available if possible. Then you can check the color and texture in your house without worrying about wrapping a huge rug and dragging it to the post office.

I would keep the sophisticated monochromatic look and go with a light colored neutral rug.

While the right rug would probably look nice, I personally don't like the bother of lifting the chairs over it and the additional effort in vacuuming or cleaning the rug of spills (but I'm getting older).

I would do something with a little pattern that helps tie your warm walls and floors and your cool decor together. I don't love this with your art but I like it with the rest of the space.

I always had a rug under my dining room table. When it was removed for cleaning, we all decided it looked much better without the rug, so when the rug came back from cleaning, it was donated to Salvation Army. That was a few years ago, and we all still like it better with no rung under the table.
