how many light fixtures over large vanity mirror in bathroom?
Comments (6)A double light over each sink should be sufficient with a window and assuming the shower is directly across from the vanity and that is the extent of the room. Other options are three single sconces mounted on the mirror and an over head light to give more light to the shower. I have a four-light over a 60" vanity in a 5x11 windowless room. The vanity area is well-lit. The shower at the end of the room is a little more shadowed but not enough to make showering and cleaning an issue....See Morebathroom vanity sinks not centered with the cabinets- mirrors?
Comments (16)How did this happen? Clearly the plumber did not have the correct centerlines and plumbed the sinks in the wrong spots. This should have been caught at the drawing stage, assuming you had the vanity you wanted from the beginning. If you purchased the vanity afterwards, then you should have made sure the cabinet centerlines were aligned with the faucets. Water under the bridge, however. I don't think you can re-plumb without tearing out the cabinet and the wall tile. So take the suggestion above of getting rectangular mirrors that are centered on the sinks....See MoreOff-center light over vanity sink
Comments (1)It's a big deal if it will bug you, it's a pretty big deal to fix - risking a lot of broken tile.... A contractor "decided" ...... So. Where was the drawing of the vanity, showing all dimensions. Also question if these are ABOVE your sinks? The error was dumb. You simply line up with center sinks/ and their faucet plumbing. Was the plumbing in place before electrical? Probably. A contractor, an electrician....both are just technicians. You spec, since that puts all the design details on you, failing you have a designer who does that. You're the "decider". Take a pic of the current situation - upload it in a comment box PS..... Why tile before the concrete vanity..EVEN if it floats........See MoreLights above bathroom sink or centered with mirrors
Comments (10)In the perfect world I would have them flip the vanities so that both have the drawers on the outside edge and the sinks on the inside edge. That would allow the lighting to be more flattering, beside the face rather than above the face. You still might be able to, having sconces at four points across the wall, at each of the vertical bands between the mirrors. Unfortunately the electrician has probably wired already for the overhead lights. My backup suggestion is for a third overhead light over the middle station, which I think would remedy this unbalanced look. If we could back up six months, I would say think of this before the build starts, but that is very easy for me to say now....See MoreWS Granite Tops
