I needed to stage a bedroom. It had a full size bed mattress/box springs, just needed something cute....found a FREE sleigh bed frame on CL! (It's wood. I should tuck that sheet in...and my husband tried putting a dust ruffle on it. lol oops!)
Anyone else found any bargains? Deals?

Comments (14)The best deals I've seen lately is laundry detergent. We have two grocery stores in town, one a big box, but they do compete on soft drinks and a few other items. The smaller store often has better quality fresh fruits and vetables. Last week at Piggly Wiggly, found a special on laundry detergent: $2 for a medium size jug, normally goes for $5 to $8. Bought 2 jugs. Had been buying at Sams Club, but these prices were better cost per ounce. This week, the big box store, Pick'n Save, countered with same size detergent at $2 per jug, a different brand than the other store. Gonna buy 2 more jugs tomorrow. Won't need any more for a few months. I haven't found any bargains in tree nuts. These have been going up steadily in price since mid-last year. Two yeara ago, I could buy a 2 lbs can of mixed nuts (50% peanuts) for $10; this week the price went up to $13 when on sale, regular price: $14. Peanuts are still reasonable, but also creeping upward. Yesterday, I came home a bit miffed. I decided to pick up a loaf of rye bread to go with sliced ham. Wow, a small loaf was expensive, and then I spied a local brand, loaf same size as regular and lower cost. It had blazed in big letters on the end of the wrapper, RYE. I perchanced to read the ingredients. Guess what - no rye flour, dust, or anything. How can they get off putting RYE in bold letters on the wrapper when there is no rye in the bread??? Comments (19)Last week WD had Marie Callander pies for $5.99. They're usually $8.99. Of course, they were out of pumpkins and, of course, I forgot to get a rain check :-( This week they have turkeys for .59 a pound, Butterball for .99. Publix has fresh tilapia (farm grown) for $5.99--a pretty good deal. Heavy whipping cream 2/$5.00. Need that this time of year for the pies. Land O Lakes butter, 2/$5.00. Maybe not deals where you are, but darned good for here. Best thing Publix has this week is--and they only have it between now and the end of the year--their Turkey Cranberry Sub. It has turkey, bacon, gruyere cheese and cranberry sauce on it--other stuff if you want (I don't). Those things are just great!! Comments (11)A small corner market here had too much bulk (barrels) oats delivered. Store owner said she ordered one but three were delivered so they were 19 cents a pound. Way to cheap to believe so I tasted a few with the owners permission. Nice and fresh. I bought 12 pounds...lol. I double wrapped in about 2 pound bags and have them in the deep freezer. We eat oats everyday fall thru spring but still I see a lot of oatmeal cookies in the future. Lol. Walmart had a 2# package of Great Value butter for 4.27 that's a good deal. Comments (55)I get it Funky. What I like about this one is that it is a stretched canvas, no glass, which keeps it simpler. It's going into a small upstairs bedroom that has the original 1910 stained wood beadboard, so I think a poster size print will bring a pop to the walls without needing anything else.
