I'd suggest your entry from the garage into the house is in exactly the wrong place, making toting groceries in and trash out as long and laborious as possible.

Better circulation solution is to put the garage entry where the powder room is and slide everything else down.

You are paying for all that roof and getting unreachable/unusable attic space.

I would add a 14 foot dormer to the bonus room to get some more headroom and be able to utilize more of the footprint. It would also allow for more windows and a view in that direction.

I would add one more window in Bed3, right before the closet.

How do you host your church groups? Dinners? Study? Works? Counseling? Celebration? Are you a pastor? Pastor's spouse? Other type of leader? If you're Lutheran, you won't be the only one washing dishes, that's for sure. Do your children participate in the events, or are you/someone occupying them/putting them to bed/etc.?

I'd say this plan doesn't have good flow for nearly anything. The kitchen is kind of a dead end with one entrance from living areas; the other entrance is too close to the master bedroom. The long hallway on the right does no favors. The bumpout for the kids' bath is just odd. The large living-dining space is great, but its placement is not conducive to family life. How would you place furniture that works for your family, allows for passageways, and accommodates groups?

With 4 small children, you may want a breakfast nook and a back or side door.

My pastors hosted some great events in their home, but they took advantage of a family room addition that could hold them. The kitchen was small but worked for their family day-to-day, and as I said, it was full of Lutheran dishwashers after dinner, washing and waiting for the coffee ;)

I think working in that kitchen would be harder than visualizing it.

The just two doors and two small windows (all to covered spaces) great room will be very, very dark. Even darker than the normal dark great rooms we see in many stock plans.

With young kids, I'd want the master bedroom closer to the kids' rooms. If someone needs you in the middle of the night that's a long way for you to go.

The kitchen looks awkward to me - like a maze to get through. The peninsula is a barrier to efficient flow.

And that's one mammoth roof.

I hesitate to put other stock plans up here, because I believe you can absolutely do better with a plan designed specifically for you, but even in the world of stock plans there are better options. Compare what you shared with this, for example. It's an H shape, and the rooms will get so much more light and have better flow.

You also might think about working with an architect remotely, rather than driving so far. There are even architects on here who do that. ArchitectRunnerGuy is one - there's a thread going right now with one of his plans.

Work with the Design Studio to work out your concerns. They do provide a service to alter plans, and they hold the rights to the design.

How large is your property?

The pantry is a really long walk from the kitchen.
