We are in the process of remodeling a 1980 colonial. During my quest for the kitchen countertop material, I discovered quartzite. I have two 11×7 slabs on hold. I would love to get feedback from experts and those of you who have

I'm no expert, but there are some useful threads on quartzite - see this one, for example:

One thing I do know is that stone shops often mislabel softer stones as quartzite, so you want to be sure what you have is actually a true quartzite, and not something like Super White, which is often called a quartzite but isn't.

There are many different types. What kind do you have on hold?

i have White Macaubus that has been sealed. It was installed about 5 months ago. Absolutely no issues with staining, chipping, etching etc.

"I think a waterfall only looks good when you can do both sides..." If you've got stone with movement and you want matching miters, your island had better not be more than four feet long, and that's if your slab is a ten-footer.

Where to cut and seam my quartzite counter top? (fabrication question)

Because of the pattern difference on that stone I don't see an angle cut working too easily. It might require another slab. I'd want to approve the layout and how it looked after fabrication at the shop before delivery/install. No sense bringing it out if it isn't right. Non-negotiable for me. I'd settle the approval process before awarding the contract.

(not a pro) When I expanded your first picture, I saw what I think are 3 stains (boxed in pink below.) Are all 3 of those stains? They look rather equidistant around the perimeter of the sink. I'm wondering if the fact that there are 3 of them, all around the same distance from the sink, would point less to a random stain and more to something below the counter (like adhesive - but seems pretty far out from the sink for adhesive?) Posting for the pros to chime in again in case they didn't expand the first picture.

IMO last thing to choose so come back when the kitchen is done there is no way IMO to give advice in a vacuum and thta is what we have. What is the brass connected to in the space for instance . IMO you do not just throw something into a space for no reason or connection to something else . Off the top of my head I would say add color but I do even know what your style is. I will say I hate those dining chairs in your idea book but again no clue as to your space .
