Anyone have experience with Blanco Kitchen Sink?
Comments (2)I have had a black silgranit sink for 3 years and absolutely love it. To date, my destructive family has been unable to damage or stain the sink in any way. You will find much more information on this sink in the kitchen forum. I don't recall having seen a bad review....See Moreanyone have experience with Seamless Sinks
Comments (5)Hello Lauren, I just ordered a custom sink from them. I spoke with Dan several times prior to purchasing the sink. I was very impressed with him and his company. He guarantees my satisfaction on my purchase. This is the picture of what I ordered....although it will take 12 weeks to receive. Therefore I can't comment on the product itself, I expect to be very happy. I chose to put my drain in the right rear of the sink- This allows for the drain in the single bowl sink to not be covered all the time with dishes etc.....and it will also allow for more room under the sink being that all the drain parts are off to one side. I will post more about the sink when I get it. I think it's a beautiful product. Thanks,...See MoreKarran acrylic sinks? Anyone with experience with these?
Comments (8)The process of undermounting to laminate is suspect for longevity. There's only a thin layer of plastic that is 1 chip away from leaking. It would probably be OK for a light use from adults, but I wouldn't put it in any other home. All of my fabricators checked out the process, and most of them refused to do it because of the potential for leaks. I only have one guy that will do it, and by the time you add in the $700 fee for it, and sign the waiver he requires, you really aren't that far from a basic granite. The last quote I did for it was $2300 for the laminate installed, and the granite was only $2500 installed, with the free stainless sink my granite fabricator offers with at least a 40 square foot purchase. Don't rule stone out because you think it's out of your budget. It probably isn't. Laminate has got pricier, and stone has gotten cheaper. Something like Uba Tuba is probably one of the most functional choices around. And one of the least expensive for a solid counter that will let you do an undermount. If you want an undermount, that's what you need to be looking at. Some type of solid counter like a stone or acrylic solid surface. Not laminate....See MoreAnyone's experience with Kohler's cast iron enamel kitchen sinks
Comments (36)I've always had Kohler cast iron sinks in all of my kitchens. Cast iron has always felt so fresh and welcoming to work in, certainly in comparison to a stainless steel sink. SS always seems like a dark-dingy hole in the countertop, with lots of water/grease spots--unless it was recently cleaned with Barkeeper's Friend and buffed dry. My appologies to the many folks who own stainless steel sinks, SS definitely has its advantages over cast iron in some areas, but so does cast iron over SS. It's a matter of pros and cons and personal preferrence. Anyway, my first cast iron sink was ancient and dull, so I had to use an abrasive scrub on it with plenty of bleach to clean it up for company. As for the many new sinks I've owned, I've use a non-abrasive scrub with or without bleach. I also use sink grates, which eliminates the black marks from rubbed metal objects--not to suggest that the black marks are permanent, but black marks are definitely a worry when you want your sink to look pristine at all times. None of the many cast iron sinks that I've owned have ever chipped or cracked. I've broken many drinking glasses until I got sink grates....See MoreJoseph Corlett, LLC
