HELP!!! Ideas needed for kitchen back splash and lighting fixture
Comments (4)That is some really nice granite! I decided to take a look at some pendant lights (I assume they'll go over an island, but if you need something else, like a ceiling semi-flush mount, please let me know) and chose to look at pendants with nickel finish to go with the cabinet handles. I can expand the search to include bronze or other finish families too, though! Kichler Crystal Ball Fredrick Ramond Globe Kichler Avery Hinkley Latitude Elan Meridian Elk Hammered Glass Feiss Lexi ET2 Starburst George Kovacs Alecia's Necklace Fredrick Ramond Mime Craftmade Design-a-Fixture Feiss Rubin Elk Kersey Maxim Lighting Ripple Feiss Beso These are just a few ideas! We have thousands more pendants to peruse if none of these strike your fancy....See Moreattempting european modern bistro type kitchen Help with Back Splash
Comments (14)I adore arabesque (and lantern. and other spanish -influenced traditional shapes-after all it's my favorite style ever, if I have to choose) but it doesn't spell modern to me.depends of course of what one means by modern because often people mean different things by that -some mean certain style, some mean something being more recent, contemporary. here's Fireclay tile blog..I liked glazed bricks on the first pic..second as well-shapes but less fluid shapes, more geometrical ones..and I strangely like this sweater pattern..I think last from the top? the one they call prep school. it might be too much and one needs to make sure they have enough space on their backsplash to pull it off. yet it exudes certain warmth..as if it was a sweater..:) https://www.fireclaytile.com/blog/ (as for the brand itself. I never used Fireclay myself, it's not inexpensive either, yet many people on these forums did, and remained extremely pleased with their quality. take a look at what they offer..they have many interesting products. including a lot of black plus white designs, some with a lot of contrast in the pattern, some, paler, more "barely there" of an effect)...See MoreAdvice needed for kitchen back splash and island
Comments (61)Okay. My 2 cents. It appears that the dining room is a bit squishy. Lots of big furniture. My thought would be to remove the sideboard, put a banquette along the wall and shift the dining table over. This is a tad fancier then what you are going for but this is right beside a kitchen peninsula...same layout. I think they shifted the chandelier over so it is centred with the table. If you search for "banquette dining" on PINTEREST you'll get lots of inspiration. Just a thought to give you more breathing room if desired. :) The balance between the beautiful banquet and the open chairs would be perfect (in your style)....See Morekitchen needs paint and back splash
Comments (5)Do you plan on removing the curtains? Are you adding any additional lighting? I ask because both of those changes would affect the final paint color choice in my opinion. Right now, the curtains seem to be filtering a bit too much and adding more yellow to what is already there. Painting the small area under the sink also white will give you more options on wall color. I take it you are tired of the yellow overall. In your small space, I think you can go bold (me, I love red against white) but all depends on the rest of your color scheme in the adjoining rooms. What do you like? Do you want a more neutral, calming feel or something that pops? You already have a small backsplash so I would not add another on top of that. It is simple enough and goes with your retro look in the kitchen. Just paint the area above the 4 inch backsplash the same as your final wall color. A few small colorful prints (under glass that can be cleaned) would also add some nice contrast on the backsplash area. For hardware you could go either black or silver. Get a rug that ties in with your wall color but is not solid (just a few hints of coordination). Once you give us some more information on your existing adjoining rooms and what you like, I think you will get more paint color suggestions....See MoreRelated Professionals
