Hey BalTra! Another vegetarian here and I understand your concern regarding the oven. I don't use mine very much... Papa Murphy's pizza, holidays and occasional casserole dish. Our Bosch oven does have some interesting other features such as a dehydrator setting that I will use one of these days. I have a SHE 45 model Bosch DW and agree regarding the smallness and inflexibility of it if you use lots of ceramic bowls etc. It runs fairly quietly but really needs the rinse agent as I have discovered. The cycles are usually around 100 minutes with the quick wash exception. You learn to run it before you need that one dish.... I have either the same or similar cooktop that Numbers has and agree with her comments. Love how easy it is to clean up and I have the silver strips. We debated about having it set into the counter flush versus perched on top. Unless you have great faith in your countertop co. I would consider the strips and perch position for your cooktop. My advice regarding your frig is to make sure that the path from your front door to the spot is big enough for your frig. We nearly bought a slightly larger standard depth Samsung model that alas wouldn't have made it into our kitchen. Good Luck!

Trebuchet...the panels are 25 5/8" deep and should sit just slightly proud of the 25" deep over-the-fridge cabinet and a little more of the cabinets (24 3/4 " deep with drawer fronts) running from the left side of the fridge down to the pantry at the other end of the cabinet run. Last night I showed my husband your responses to my question and he looked like a light bulb went on. I'll keep my fingers crossed!!

I have been reading and thinking them over. itsallaboutthefood - yes, you are correct, if I make the right wall shorter then I can slide the fridge over a tad and build a panel on the left. However... do I really want to go to all this work for my current fridge? Shorter wall I think will mean the black is even more visible. camphappy - thank you for the measurements. I do not have 3" to spare. Regarding the French door(s), where do you put things you take out of the fridge? Beyond the French doors or behind you? Yes, building and paneling existing fridge would be an improvement but if if I had my druthers and the budget to match, what would I do with this space? Is it really worth the expense to order panels and build a structure around a temporary fridge? EAM44 - it is all about the fridge, thanks for the reminder about the free-standing fridge vs. integrated fridge different requirements. I think that's part of why I am struggling - I can't design the space until I know what fridge I'm using, old or new. The island makes it hard to pull the fridge forward enough and still get the door open. Glad you like seeing the wall colored grey again, I am quite pleased too... Take out wall, insert fabulous, paneled Thermador (not white, definitely contrasting color, maybe match island but probably wonderful pop of new color) fridge. One of the ones which looks like a huge piece of lovely furniture. I should probably start a new thread to ask this but - does anyone use all drawers for a fridge/freezer solution? Julieste, if u look at my first comment I loaded a pic of my before fridge. It was a much larger, Samsung. The doors opened fine in that space. I didn’t change anything when I got the Cafe. It’s a much smaller fridge (28 cubic in down to 22 cu inch). I figured, no prob. Smaller fridge doors will open fine. ( and it was 7 inches shallower!) I couldn’t open the doors more than half! Some models have doors that swing differently. Obviously the Samsung model had doors that swung “in” or hugged the base a lot closer. The Cafe need more room for the doors to swing and clear what ever was next to it. Don’t know why. It’s just the way they’re built.
