Ideal Windows- Majestic Windows
Comments (4)I didnt know too much about the Majestic window until i saw it at a home show. it looks like a good window. very low air infiltration rating (.02 ) which is very good and seems well made, its a pretty window. You are correct, it is definitely different/ better than the standard windows by Ideal. Ideal has been around forever and seems to have a good rep with regards to warranty and so forth. Your pricing seems fair to me if its a basic installation. I have no problem recommending it since it has very good performance numbers and seems well made....See MoreIdeal Location for a Very Large Sink
Comments (9)mama goose_gw zn6OH thank you very much; I will definitely study the links that you mentioned. That was extremely helpful! Yes, next to the oven is counter top/cabinet space. Patricia Colwell Consulting, dan1888 , thanks for your input. As of now, nothing is set in stone and it's not definitive that I will go with a 48" sink. I am still playing around the idea of a smaller main sink with another separate prep sink in the walk-in-pantry. It's certain of the need for a second faucet because there are often two people working in the kitchen. So, I thought that it might actually save counter space by having a huge sink with two faucets as opposed to having another prep sink. But aesthetically, it might be much better to have a second prep sink and a more reasonably sized sink in the island with just one faucet. bbtrix, I agree that the sink is a great workspace. All my knife and prep work is done in the sink. Personally, I find this far more efficient than dirtying up the counter space. I am thinking of choosing one of http://creategoodsinks.com/ double ledge sinks. I have chosen to put the sink in the island, and now I have to decide whether it's going to be once big huge sink in the island, or another separate prep sink. remodeling1840 Thanks, that's a good point, I will make sure that there will be enough room for the pull down ladder....See MoreFloor plan review for a 2196 sf. home for a family of 9, self build.
Comments (117)a bathroom area where the sink/counter is out by the hall , and the bath and toilet are both behind (a) door/s works well for a full house. My personal preference is to keep the toilet accessible while someone is in the shower/tub (which, of course, means an opaque covering for the shower/tub to retain privacy), because I can't seem to find the off-switch for the kids' bladders when someone else is in the shower. lol Granted, I currently only have 2 toilets, and no powder room. Three of my kidlets aren't potty trained yet (we're a special needs family, plus I have a young toddler), and I'd love to have an extra toilet when all 7 kids are out of diapers. Miss Miranda may feel differently! :-D...See MoreWindows - Okna v. Ideal
Comments (15)Actually, the Okna Quote #2 didn't include the door. So it's an extra 3000 for a thermatru fiberglass door with storm door for a total of $15,600 (minus an energy rebate of about 1000 eventually). Would everyone still recommend #2? Thank you!!...See MoreUser
