Well, I'm sorry to have been part of the problem. Yes, Karyn, it erased my email address book and hubby's too. I feel kinda leery of opening any emails now. I have received several from Mariam recently with no subject that I deleted, and another that was suspicious, saying someone "needed some advice"- too close to someone "needing your help"!!! I let everyone know that I could by posting on FB but not everyone is on Facebook. Good luck getting back on track, whomever was hacked. My aunt was even hacked from me, and she is 77- what a PITA for her!! ~Brenda B

I have never sold anything on eBay, but I've been buying from eBay since 2001. My rating is 100%. I've got a feedback score of nearly 400, but it's more than 220 less than the actual number of positive feedbacks that I've received, because there are a number of sellers from whom I've purchased more than once. (You only get "credit" for the first feeback from a seller.) I would have to say that, no, I've never been duped on eBay, but I have had a few less-than-stellar experiences. Nothing that would prevent me from buying on eBay again. I disagree with Redcurls' comment about a rating of 99.5% being not very good. The percentage is determined by the total number of feedback received, so the more feedback someone has, the more negatives they have to have before their percentage goes down. I've seen more than one seller who is shown with a 100% rating, but who have received quite a few negative feedbacks -- but their total number of feedback is so huge that, in comparison, the negatives are negligible. What I do, if there is an item that I really want and the seller has any negatives, is read the negatives -- all of them -- and also check the feedback of the folks who have left those negatives. I've seen negative feedback that says, "Item is great. Thanks so much!" -- I find myself wondering what that buyer was smoking before leaving feedback. Why give someone a negative (or even a neutral), if you are writing only good comments??? I don't hold those negatives against a seller. I've also seen negative feedback where the buyer makes a comment about the item being dirty, or with some damage, etc., then the seller makes a comment in response that this was clearly described in the auction page. I look at the auction page and see that, yes, the seller was very honest about the condition of the item. If the buyer is too dumb to read the full description, or to look at the included photos, then it's the buyer's fault and I'm not going to hold that negative feedback against that seller.

Anne, I had a similar thing happen to me. My Dad was laid off from his job in my high school senior year. I told my parents I wanted an opal ring for graduation. Lo and behold, they got me an opal ring with a big beautiful opal and two small diamond accents. I loved that ring, and especially when I thought of my parents, with four kids, finding the money to buy me that ring. I wore it on special occasions only. I kept it in a separate box inside my jewelry box in my bedroom. I got married, moved 500 miles away from my parents and had two daughters. The only person who had access to my jewelry box was a babysitter who took care of my kids for six years. We fired her when she stole some items from my kitchen, a shot glass and some cookie cutters. Not expensive, but I was creeped out at her stealing from me. Several months later I looked in my jewelry box and the ring (and its' box) were gone. I looked all over, asked my kids if they had played with my jewelry, but no. The only person who had ever been in my house was that baby sitter. I still see her in the neighborhood. I wish I had some evidence, but it's too late now. I've been looking on Ebay to see if I can find a similar ring, but I can't. I'm afraid to tell my Mom the ring is gone (Dad died 10 years ago).

Didn’t read the responses but yes the demos are impressive. Loved the vacuum and the spot cleaner. They literally put water from my sink onto a stain I was unable to get out of carpet and got it out very effortlessly. Even though it was a fantastic cleaner I thought it was cumbersome to use. (They left me test it all over the house.). I don’t like to drag behind canisters. I don’t want to store one somewhere either. That‘s a lot of space in a closet. I don’t want to look at it in a corner while it’s doing the water air purifier thing. I actually wouldn’t even use that because we have air purifiers we bought because of DS2 allergies and they work great. (Actually there was basically no lint/dust in the air for that part of the demo thanks to our purifiers.) It’s clunky. I think the price is awful. We were quoted $2999. Ten year warranty is great but knock the price down and the warranty if need be. Shouldn’t be more than $1500 at most IMO. I don’t know how I came up with that number but it feels better to me. I also bet they’d sell more units. Maybe they want people to ‘work it off’ so they can try and sell more. Speaking of the actual demo we were helping a relative get demos in. She came with the higher up sales guy she got one through. You can pay outright or ‘work It off’ by getting so many shows in x amount of time. Not sure what happens if you fail. Maybe pay even more?? Most people must take the second option. The demo was to take 1.5 hours. They were here over 3. I didn’t mind the demo up until things got pushy. At that point it was after 10 at night and we needed to go pick up our kids! Even after we said about it we heard sorry but the guy continued with his push to get us to buy. Then of course on the phone with his higher up. He insisted us working if off was the best thing for us though it absolutely wouldn’t work for our schedules even if we wanted to. We had already explained that in detail too. He then asked what kind of vehicles we drove and went down a weird scenario path about getting baby sitters if the car would be paid for ... I tuned him out at that point, interrupted and we had to be very direct and stern. He kept flinging different offers at us. I hate haggling. Just give me your best price from the start and we’ll decide if we want to pay it. Also, they have to show it to a couple. It couldn’t just be shown to me or DH. There was a whole list of criteria in order for them to be able to give a demo. We got a free rain mate with it. I like the noise and what it does but don’t like looking at it on my counter or anywhere. It’s in a closet cause DH wants to keep it .... Yes they clean but are clunky and the sales push was awful. The sales guy on the phone was acting awful. Interesting how something can work really great but you remember the bad thing from an experience. Had there not been such a strong push I‘d probably be talking more positive about their vacuums and my experience. They should have a rental option actually. The vacuums would have to be cleaned out and disinfected with each user though.
