Brunfelsia gigantea bloomsplosion!

michaelspokane

I had this plant down in my basement grow room next to my Michelia alba all winter, with temps in the 45F to 65F range, mostly on the dry side (often to the point of wilting), and then, about 3 weeks ago, I saw flower buds forming at nearly every leaf node!

So I brought it upstairs and set it there, next to the stove. That window is one of two south-facing windows in my house.

The fragrance overwhelms the cooking odors. I used to describe it as clove studded honey glazed Virginia ham. But maybe it's more like clove studded honey glazed vanilla ice cream, dusted with smoked paprika!
