The sign of a good neighbor...I hope.

This house is 110 years old. It has been empty for 12 years. It was up for sheriffs sale, but there were no bidders. Don't know the ins and outs of all that took place, but a real estate agency wound up putting it on the market after having the property cleaned up and the house pretty much gutted inside. This what it looked like last summer.

Now after all the clean up

This past Monday, we saw a man out in front of the house working around the foundation. Later in the day my DH went over to see what the man had been up to.

He had dug out some roots at the foundation in front and replaced them with Daffodils, mulching the area nicely when he was done. Talked with him the next day and he explained that he stopped by to do that right after closing on the house. All can say is that he sure has his work cut out for him. The roof and new windows are first in line he says.
