HELP! Furniture Layout for Basement Living Room with Fireplace and TV?
Comments (5)Great ideas @havingfun! Thank You! It's funny, we started physically moving some things around down there, and I'm starting to think the TV should indeed go on the far wall. I'm just worried about it creating a black hole at the end of this long room. Are you suggesting dividing the room into two sections? Like a TV section and a fireplace section? "face couch or appropriate chairs towards the tv. appropriate chairs or couch to fireplace" and then a rug in each section? I like Bohemian, vintage, rustic, industrial styles I think. I liked the first and third rug you suggested. Maybe light bright rugs and warm darker furniture? We really like the idea of leather sofa/s, like the kind with the nailheads. We have cats and friends, so any anti-stain, non-fur grabbing furniture is what we are looking for....See MoreNeed help with Den/Alcove area and Fireplace TV Stand
Comments (3)I had hired people that were supposedly professionals to hang art. I did not know if that was too high. I will have to see if I can hire someone else come back to rehang them. thank you for the advice on the wall pictures. Yes, I have my dining table moved there only bc i am having my kitchen redone and I had to move it away from the dining room. Normally that dining set would not be there, it would be empty. That is the location I would like the chaise lounge chair or the barrel and I would move the sofa chair on the opposite side....See Morehelp with master sitting area
Comments (16)HI Everyone, thanks for your help. Yes, right next to where these chairs are is a double French door from which you get a view to the pool. So it's a nice view. We thought we could sit there and maybe have a cup of coffee or read. My husband really wants an ottoman of some kind to put his feet. There is space for that, no problem. but the space between the 2 chairs is only 12". so it has to be a skinny table. And i'm concerned it will look even more bulky. we can consider keeping only 1 chair but that's not as functional. i was trying to make the table and ottoman "lite" looking in order to tone down the bulkiness of the chairs. That's why i chose 2 poufs and a skinny light table. But i'm not sure i'm accomplishing that. I will get additional pics of the room up soon. here is another skinny possible table? i think i will also need an area rug, and i was thinking a solid cream colored one since the chairs are kinda busy?...See MorePlease! help with basement TV room
Comments (5)Definitely a different wall color because it's too close to the color of the sofa and carpet. Since it's a basement I would go lighter, maybe SW Alabaster or BM Acadia White. Sample a couple things before you commit. It's hard for us to be right on when looking at colors on monitors. Then you still need to add some color with art over the sofa. Try art.com. The other posters gave you some good ideas too....See MoreDenita
