matching different brand stainless steel appliances
Comments (3)I didn't think about the stainless being a different color. I did think about the handles though and all the appliances we got had similar handles - Samsung french door fridge Bosh dishwasher Sharp drawer microwave Kitchenaid double oven All this handles are somewhat similar or atleast enought that I don't think any one will stand out as awkward...of course we are just finishing our demolition phase so will see once the appliances get put in....See MoreMixing white appliances w/ stainless steel?
Comments (3)We bought the house we are in now almost three years ago-and it had white cabinets, white appliances and cream laminate counters. VERY WHITE....we too had to buy a fridge and I couldn't decide if it was okay to buy SS and went with white so it would "match" the others. Now we have replaced the counters and ALL the appliances with SS. I wish I would have just purchased the SS fridge I wanted from the start-I think it is certainly okay to mix them-and if you buy the white knowing you plan to eventually replace the other ones you may regret it-I did immediately. Now my almost 3 year old fridge is in the garage-which is fine...and I do love having it there-but would have saved me $2500 to just get the SS to begin with....See MoreHas anybody mixed stainless with clean steel appliances?
Comments (4)Yes - I did this at my lake house. They are noticeably different to me but I decided I didn't care. I actually liked the color of the clean steel better (mine is Whirlpool brand) and I liked that it would stay cleaner. I've had it about a year - happy with the decision. For people who like things to match perfectly the difference might bug them....See Morematching stainless steel
Comments (27)“We want everything to match as close as possible, and still look over high end...We were looking at a whirlpool fridge and a jenn-air microwave.” An actual high-end home would not have matching appliances unless they were all Miele, or Wolf-Subzero, Thermador/Bosch, or Gaggenau. Even with those brands, they are likely to mix them. An actual high-end home would not want the possibility of appearing like a tract home and tract homes always have matching suites of appliances. Also note that stainless steel finishes may not match exactly even within the same brand. Manufacturers purchase their stainless steel at different times, from different factories and/or from different runs. Like others have said, you are overthinking this. Get the appliances you like with the features you like, and don’t worry about matching them. Also, if you are building a new house, you must develop a thicker skin. You will have many challenges, frustrations, and decisions ahead of you. If Mark’s small comment made you bristle, you will definitely not be able to handle a new build....See Morefuture_retiree
