Comments (7)Me getting ready to go for a dog sled ride last Friday. We went to Vern Halter's Dream a Dream kennels in Willow, AK where we took an 8 mile dog sled ride. I sat down in front for one of the miles and stood up at the back for the last seven miles. The beauty of the place was breathtaking. Vern has participated in 14 Iditarods. He dressed me up in one of his Iditarod outfits (jumper, mukluks, mittens and musher's hat). A bit of an overkill for the weather that day but fun to see and wear what he wore in an actual race. Vern is not much bigger than me. Nice, nice guy. Great ride!!! Comments (9)found this plum tree at the lake, while walking, picked all, even though I had to shake the tree to get the rest off. :) that's the size of them strained them after cooking them with the pit in, cause the pit was ssssoooooooo hard to remove in the raw plum cooked this canned the finished product. Comments (19)Each year we enjoy an Easter morning fundraising breakfast at a local fire station in one of our surrounding canyons. And each year after breakfast we walk the canyon and visit all the animals along the way. Turkeys, dogs, birds, goats, horses greet us at every step. This horse is Reno. We've been stopping by to say hello to Reno the last six years and always take his photo. Took five years to find his owner and get his name. We look forward to seeing him every year. This is our 33 year old daughter saying hello to Reno this year....See More
8 years agoWe were so excited to see this Pileated Woodpecker on the suet Monday morning. First time seeing one at the feeders. Taking it's picture at an angle through double paned window didn't produce the best results, but here she is.

8 years agoThis is at Lake Hefner. Just a tiny bit over a mile away. There is a trail almost all the way around it... one just has to share the road on the dam. I ride there often now.

8 years agoI planted this little baby magnolia Genie in Spring 2016. So thrilled to see it loaded with 20+ buds today.
8 years agoThere's a movement across Canada, and around the world, where people are putting a hockey stick on the porch of their front, to show their being united with the tragedy in Humboldt. (The loss of 15 young hockey players on the weekend).
Even the Canadian Snowbirds air acrobatics are showing their support.
