I have one, and I like it,but I think time wise it is like using your oven . You still need a few drops of oil, but so much less then deep frying . You can do lots of stuff with them, but I have only done frys chicken strips and fish sticks in mine.

I use my air fryer more than any other appliance, other than my stove or microwave. Just made breaded shrimp tonight. I have never breaded my own things and used the fryer. I buy pre-breaded. It comes out crispy and non-oily tasting in about 20 minutes.

I spray the basket with Pam or something similar. That's enough oil to make the frying action. I check ingredients when I shop. I try not to buy stuff that has been pre-cooked; only pre-breaded. That way, I'm not getting extra oil.

Check the shopping channels. One or the other is always offering a fryer. I got mine for far less than $100; but, I've got mine over a year. Even if you have to spend $100 plus, if you get it through a shopping channel, there's always some sort of an incentive.

I can't imagine anyone not liking this appliance. It generates no heat in the kitchen. Clean up is a breeze. The food is tasty as can be and everything fried food should be - except greasy.

I love mine too. paid maybe 60.00 for it on Evine. I've had it over a year - and fear the day it stops working. love it! If I see a good buy on another one, I'll get it for back up.

Do watch the 'dials' - mine has tiny markings (but I seldom change the temp anyway). I'd want large markings / print and a basket that separates (mine doesn't - not that it's been a major hindrance in use). I think it'd be easier to clean if separate, not that it a major problem. I'm just looking for anyway easier in cooking and cleaning.

pay attention to the wattage on them.

Mine is small one - fine size for 1 or 2.

Mine is from Walmart. I love it for anything frozen battered, french fries or onion rings. Other items will have more of a floury coating. I occasionally do the cornmeal covered okra but it's not that great, not like it was fried. I say its great for many things but other things need to be deep fried. Use a bit of coconut oil on the bottom when using.

I have never tried steaks or hamburger in mine. Someone else needs to answer that. There are tons of recipes out there. If you have a good one please share it.

I love mine for re-heating foods, esp. French fries... leftover fries were always soggy unless heated in the oven. This works great. I've only used it for re-heating or for cooking frozen "fried" foods. Never tried a steak or hamburger either, except to re-heat.
