Contain Stinging nettle roots in a sunken Galvanized tub

I want to grow Stinging nettle but heard it has invasive rhizomes, like mint and if it escapes, it will go every where.

I have a large galvanized tub with a few holes in the bottom for drainage. I would like to make the drainage holes bigger and sink the tub down into a hole in the garden leaving only 2 inches showing above ground. I would like to plant the nettle there.

Does anyone have experience growing nettle in a tub? Did the roots escape the tub and travel?

How deep do the rhizomes go down?

Could someone who has knowledge and experience help me by answering these questions?

Thank you

Colleen
