Comments (15)good idea! As a young chemist I spent a lot of time in University research labs. I watched a number of former associates take the path of what we termed "recreational chemistry", both undergraduate and graduate students. I watched almost all of them end up in prison, and one I knew of ended up being shot and killed in a shootout with state police during a raid. I was approached on more than one occasion to synthesize several of those recreational chemicals. I never went there. I decided a clean life, while probably more boring, had its rewards. But I will joke about it. At my age it's obvious it's a joke....See MoreLocal Sources For Sunn Hemp Seeds?
Comments (22)Just like the bees work with the plants above ground to pollinate the flowers while the bees gather nectar and pollen, the inoculants work below ground on and around the roots to help the plant break down the nutrients in the soil needed for the plant to use as food. The nitrogen fixing inoculants are rhizobacteria that live symbiotically with legumes such as peas, beans, etc. These bacteria live within specialized nodules on the root systems of legumes, where they process atmospheric nitrogen into a form available for the plants to use. Another group of common soil inoculants are mycorrhizal fungi, which attach to the roots of many plant species and help conduct water and nutrients for the plants to use. I hope this helps explain the relationships of the inoculant. Lou...See MoreHow to clean a barrel previously used for hemp oil
Comments (0)Hi, We bought a 1,000 litre capacity plastic container that is housed within a metal frame that was previously used for hemp oil. I would like to use it to collect rainwater and use it on my veggie garden. My concern is that it smells and when it was initially rinsed out using a pressure washer, the area that it drained onto - the grass died in that spot. Does anyone know what I can clean it with that won't damage my plants? I have read several tips like tsp, baking soda, etc. but I would like some opinions from people that have actually dealt with this in the past. Also, am I posting this in the correct forum? Thank you, Paula...See MoreHemp bedding - Green or brown?
