Trying to repair a lawn

John Watson

We have geo zoysia grass, sodded, and 2 border collies. They have a path from the front steeps to one side of the fenced yard. The main problem is the digging in certain areas. Mainly close to the front porch along a step pathway that leads to the front gate. I'm trying to find a material that will allow for soil coverage and grass growth, but will discourage digging. Instead of a fabric cloth I have considered using 1/4" galvanized welded hardware cloth or even chicken wire, but if there is a cloth that would serve the same purpose, and be some what long lasting, it would probably be easier to work with. Live in the Gulf Coast area of Mississippi with fairly sand soil
