Comments (4)kelleg I will be doing this behind the range top, 30" H x 48" L and wanted to carry the tile on the other 3 walls. Is that what you mean by an accent behind the stove? also, believe it or not there are purplish iridescent glass tiles that change color to whatever is around it. Its showing up as muddy red in the pic. The range top comes tomorrow, and I'm hoping I can get to it -to check out just how red the knobs are,,,its been so long I can't remember. I'm hoping they're more of an orangey red than a red red. as for red accents, I'm looking at amber glass pendants for above the island. only if the reds don't clash. I appreciate your thoughts because I realize this isn't too ordinary....See MoreBacksplash is COMPLETE! ... final thoughts?
Comments (18)Beautiful job!! I love your backsplash. I'm in the middle of a complete kitchen renovation and picked out the same faucet. Is that the "straight edge" or "pencil edge" on your granite? I am trying to decide which edging to use myself....See MoreThought I'd seen it all....but what *amazing* backsplashes
Comments (24)Fly- Just do a search on my name, I have pictures posted under a thread from Nov. 11 about my hood. It's very similar to a few examples on their site. The murals are beautiful, but above a cooking area, I'm afraid that would be a cleaning nightmare because they are so dimensional, so I chose something simple. If you like murals, you have to go to their home page and look at the Extreme Makeover project. It's 12 x 6 feet, 30,000 tiles- a very colorful sunburst. I wouldn't want it in my house, but it is a spectacular work of art....See MoreBacksplash Thoughts?
Comments (12)When you're looking at inspiration pics for backsplashes, always look at the counter with which the backsplash has been paired. In your second posted pic the backsplash has been paired with a plain black granite, which yours is not. You have a beautiful but complex patterned granite and need to keep that in mind. I'd go a simple matte. The alder cabinets also have an extra detail other than the style of cabinet in the knotty detail of the wood. You have enough going on and to add a third detail in other-than-simple tile for the backsplash will be too much....See MoreRita / Bring Back Sophie 4 Real
