My honest opinion is that it sounds wonderful. I am just not too clear on what you mean about inserting a random tile. Do you mean one square tile or a bunch of tiles that would be the size of the subways? In any event, the combinations sound great.

sorry about that, not being very clear is all the dust and dirt in my brain...

I'm thinking of cutting the bottom of the subway roughly 1" up by 2" over and inserting the tile. I'd like to completely insert the tile into the 3x6 space, but it won't fit; also forgot to mention these are 1 x 1's. Perhaps some spaces can be 1/2 a subway where appropriate. I need to draw it out, I don't want to over do it, but want to incorporate it throughout.

I have a friend who did 6x6 white tile in her daughter's bath and inserted glass in 6x6 spaces. It is really cute.

How do you think this tile will go with the red knobs on the Wolf? Will you be doing red accessories? I don't get any feeling of red from the tile. That is my only real concern. I think the fact that it has soapstone in it is good. You could also consider this as an accent behind stove.

the tile on the other 3 walls. Is that what you mean by an accent behind the

also, believe it or not there are purplish iridescent glass tiles that change color

to whatever is around it. Its showing up as muddy red in the pic.

The range top comes tomorrow, and I'm hoping I can get to it -to check out

just how red the knobs are,,,its been so long I can't remember. I'm hoping

they're more of an orangey red than a red red.

as for red accents, I'm looking at amber glass pendants for above the island.

only if the reds don't clash.
