Do you have quilting plans for this weekend? March 12 -13
Comments (17)I hope to get the quilting decided on a quilt that I am not overly fond of, so having a hard time. It has been laying on the living room floor for 2 weeks now-I keep finding dog toys on it :). I want to finish 6 more pinwheels & make decisions on borders for a quilt I started as a gift for my MIL when I first started learning to piece quilts - 2 years ago. I pulled the project out, and I am so close to finishing it....I was scared I would cringe when I looked at it-but I am still very happy as I am a precise sewer, so the workmanship is good and I made good color & fabric choices - very planned - and I am able to figure out where I left off in the directions in the book. Yea! Hopefully I will get it done this month....See MoreAnyone quilting this weekend? 8/24-8/25
Comments (14)Not over the weekend, but I did go to Sit and Sew tonight... Picked up the Bernina from the shop on the way and looked at fabric... 80 bucks to fix the thread cutter, but it is working like a champ now. There were only 9 people at Sit and Sew tonight... I worked on an Irish Chain using my grandmother's fabric. The food was awesome (homemade pulled pork, pigs in a blanket made with honey and nuts, homemade peach cobbler... and I didn't even cook tonight, I just bought a glazed marble cake from Publix) and I was able to sign up for the quilt retreat day in October... we're going to make a Window Pane 9 Patch. It should be fun and 25 people have already signed up for it. Linda I'm glad there's good news about your heart! Jackie, what a sweet husband to want to spend the day with you and to be concerned about you not getting out enough... so considerate! I can totally relate... after working a full week, I just want to sit down in front of my machine and relax and not deal with anyone!...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? March 18-20
Comments (22)Theresa, You are right. They usually do offer a pattern, but I couldn't find one for this year. I noticed they (whoever 'they' are) changed the name to Worldwide Quilting Day, so maybe the National Quilting Association didn't put one up. I went searching for one and decided on St Louis 16-Patch. I like the concept more than how the quilt on this site looks, but like the one I did. No picture yet as I haven't completed sewing all the blocks together. It was fun and went together quickly. http://sewwithsass.blogspot.co.nz/2013/04/quilts-st-louis-16-patch.html Love2Sew. Curling! Wouldn't that be a fun thing for us to do??? I did find where the Championships would be televised here on the 31st and have it set to record should I not remember. Right now we've been binge watching March Madness (college basketball) and seeing a few upsets that are nice to see....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Feb. 24-25
Comments (5)I went to the Mt. Dora quilt show on Friday morning. It was wonderful, as always! I have gone every year for probably at least 10 years, but I thought I would have to miss it this year! The Florida Handbell Festival was this weekend in Gainesville and I wanted to go, plus my group was performing an independent piece. Then I realized that I didn't have to be in Gainesville until 1 pm, so I could still go to the quilt show! :) The bell festival was really fun. Today I'm doing laundry and I'll probably work on my cross stitch some more. Donna...See Morecaroline94535
