Caterpillar ID needed AGAIN please- pics
Comments (7)Siam, I'm not positive they're ruby-spotted swallowtail caterpillars, but given their similarity in shape and overall look to giant swallowtails, I'm sure they're some type of citrus swallowtail. The only type citrus swallowtail that I know of whose caterpillars congregate is the ruby-spotted swallowtail. Even if they're another type swallowtail, they'll be big beauties! Please post a picture of one of the chrysalides - I bet it'll look a lot like a giant swallowtail chrysalis. Sherry...See MoreHoya ID needed again...

Comments (4)Thank you for the prelim ID pubicalyx ... That's correct in terms of the leaf. Denise is right in terms of mine having far less variegation than hers. Mine is just minutely speckled. As far as I know, the blooms are similar to those of "Pink Silver." We'll see. Well it IS growing, just not as fast in comparison to my Australis. It was a rootless cutting, so I imagine it needed time to adjust. Substrate is very loose and fast-draining ... It's what I use for my adeniums, plumeria, orchid cactus cultivars. I have basically adopted it for all my C&S because it doesn't remain excessively wet and allows the roots to move and breathe. Every climate and growing culture is different and this substrate works very well for me here. Le's wait until it blooms and I'll post pictures of it in bloom. Then we can do a better job of IDing it. Thanks for your help. Maria Elena...See Morebetonlife42
