Does anyone know the style this valance is?
Comments (10)"dilly dally- I really don't care for anything too floral or paisley. Stripes and plaids are okay if mixed with something else. I like more of the diamonds patterns, no more than 3 or 4 colors. Solid would probably be fine but I have NO idea what color to even begin with. Choosing a pattern for your valance is a personal and subjective thing. You now have some good search terms now to use for Google to help make shopping a breeze. You just have to persevere. A search brings up the tab top Imperial style you like, with the diamond pattern you like, with neutral colors and bling fringe. It does not clash with the chair upholstery on the new chairs either. I'm not saying that you should love this one, as I said before choosing a pattern is personal taste. If you are timid about taking the plunge and ordering your new valances, why not narrow it down to a few you do like and post them here and let everyone vote to help you find the one. It sounds like you know exactly what you what so maybe you will have to go with custom like Mini suggests, otherwise you will always look at the store bought valance and see them as not being right for you. If custom is not an option for you right at this point in time then go get some inexpensive Walmart ones in a solid color or buy a length of inexpensive material to wrap around the rods until you can get the ones you want. Knowing these inexpensive ones are only temporary will make you not hate them when you look at them. Also, don't automatically rule out lightweight panels for the room either. Comments (11)They look like 1920-40s mass-market chairs based on the 1890s classical revival of the 1780s neoclassical movement because .... 1 - The back x-frames are absolutely flat, not finished to match the fronts like better furniture would be. 2 - the side rails in the neo-classical ones from the 1890s are straight or fluted, not squiggly like these. The squiggles are contamination from the popular "Jacobethan" ornateness of that era. 3 - The front x-frame is also flat, an indication it was jig-sawed or press-cut from plywood and veneered, and has the rounded lip that was widely used in that era. Better chairs would clearly show the individual pieces they were made from. 4 - The upholstery is inset in a delicately curved wooden frame ... the shape reeks of the 1930s popular style....See MoreRecognize this pull? Comments (4)We've done lots of spray on - knock down, but this doesn't look like it was sprayed on - it's way too heavy for that. We also thought it was an attempt at crow's foot. You gave me a good laugh, klem1! The house is 2400 square feet with 10-foot ceilings, and this texture is everywhere! Doesn't make sense that they would've trowled or rolled it on, but we've never seen a sprayed-on texture be that thick....See MoreCAB Architects
