If you live in a high moisture area I would definately not recommend CorrectDeck, although now they carry an anti-fungal board, and I cannot comment on that. I believe I should have been advised by the manufaturer or contractor that my deck might be suseptible to mold. Unfortunatly, I was not and now I am stuck with this deck, I should look into a legal action against them, I'm so furstrated that I invested all of this money for a less maintenance deck and got a deck that I have to continuously clean with bleach/water solution (the only product I found to kill the mold) and then within a week or two the mold starts reapparing, it looks horrible.

An ipe deck is certainly going to look nicer & last longer, tho you will have to re-apply a stain/sealer about once a year to maintain the nice appearance. No one sells Vekadeck around here, but I have seen the boards at a homeshow. I did not like the way their boards looked, but the pvc composites do have some nice advantages. They don't scratch as easily as most composites do & they clean up easier too. If Ameradeck is available in your area look into it, I think it is superior to the vekadeck boards. No cleaning is required to keep mold/mildew away, the boards look better, & it is fire resistant. Al

Thank you very much for your response. Have you noticed any mold/mildew issues on the rail at the complex? I'm just concerned about going with a composite (which I hear has exposed wood fibers) vs a true PVC product. many thanks, Alicia
