Well, I have a friend who is giving me her greenhouse - she did a nursery for a while and is done....My dream is to someday have a little nursery as well to sell to the public. Just a small local thing. And I was thinking I would have the chairs for outside the greenhouse. A nice sitting area under a tree or something. It is a long way away, but I WILL get there. So that is my plans for the chairs. I will post my next one when I find a good one at a yardsale. The colors I used: The bright green one is by Krylon. Gloss Ivy Green. Got it at Walmart. It is a latex. The teal green I got at Lowes. It is the American Tradition collection by Valspar. The color is "Northern Hemisphere" #5009-5. Oh, and it is an enamel. Thanks for all the comments!

Yeah -- that's new to me. I'm a little jaded when it comes to "new" innovative fabric treatments. Personally, unless there is a reason to be overly cautious of staining on upholstered stools and chairs, I don't worry too much about it. Choose a good quality fabric that will resist stains and/or clean easily. There isn't much fabric yardage required in stools and cushions so you might be in a position to spend a little more money on really good quality, stain-resistant fabric. There is, of course, the old stand-by Scotch Guard fabric spray! Been around for years, I guess because people trust in it!

Your kitchen is beautiful! Very inspirational to me :) Are you familiar with Ballard Designs? They have a huge selection of "outdoor rugs" (although I can't imagine using one outdoors where I live!) But we have a few as door mats and one in our Dining Room, and they are perfect! Easy to wipe down to clean. But they look really, really nice! Take a look--they are all on sale right now. And maybe one or two will inspire you? Just a few examples... OR Now, under your eating area, I am going to just caution that it will get MESSY under there one your little eater is eating independently. But you can enjoy the rug until then, and then see how you feel. It's just hard to get under there and clean, with the built-in there. Also, I had wooden fabric seated chairs, and they will be getting re-upholstered in a few more years--they are trashed! Even the wood backs are "gunky" from so much wet hands/jelly/cereal/yogurt/etc. I switched to industrial style metal chairs from World Market (so not very expensive!) and I love them. Sooooo easy to wipe down--even easier than wood! And I have the coordinating wood table, so it does look good with wood tones, too. And my kitchen is white, Here they are: Finally, go into stores, like World Market or Pier One or anything that floats your boat. Find some napkins or placemats that inspire you. Thank you all again for your kind comments. Each chair presents it's own individual challenge, and the one we are doing now is really a challenge... We are currently reupholstering in leather, Great, Great Grandpa's small antique chair. The leather we are using is the leather we removed from our old leather sofa. We never upholstered a chair in leather before, and it certainly has it's challenges. Leather is very unforgiving, as the wrinkles can't be stretched out like you can with material. We sewed the small pieces together, and I am happy to say it's coming out nicely, despite having to re-do the seat twice :( I think working in leather has given us a new appreciation for tailors, as well as upholsterers that work in leather. :) You sure need a lot more strength in your hands to pull the leather. Hopefully it will be completed in a day or two. I have leather cleaner, but need to get leather conditioner...Does anyone know what I would put on the leather to make it shine? Every time I see leather chairs on TV they are shiny. I want this chair to have a deep luster.(I'm not sure if conditioner does this, as I never used conditioner) Any advise on how to achieve a nice luster? Joann
