What would you do with this bed.
Comments (20)I recently purchased a king sleigh bed that needed to be "centered" in the room under a window. The matching night stands were much too wide to fit. I ordered the bed, dresser, and chest, hoping to eventually find night stands that would look good with the bed. The same week the bed was delivered, I was walking thru Target of all places and there were my "matching" night stands. Are they high quality? Probably not. Do they look good and are they well made? Sure. In fact, they are the exact same stain (cherry/expresso) and look like they came with the "suite". They have a small drawer, bottom ledge - just perfect for my needs. They were priced $89, on sale for $69, but look high-end. Plus those babies were assembled and you know when you pay $69 for a piece of new furniture, you at least expect to have to assemble! They hold a lamp, alarm clock, tissues quite well! Check Target, Overstock, JCP, Just do a search for side table, phone table, accent tables. Look at wrought iron, glass, wood - lots of possibilities. Tuesday...See MoreWWYD: Twin bed with F/Q - look odd?
Comments (8)The listing for the bedding should give it's actual dimensions. Use that information and the dimensions of your twin bed to calculate how far the bedding would hang over the edge of the mattress. Take what ever bedding you have on hand and lay it on the bed so that it covers your bed top and one side and the foot of the bed the calculated amount. Stand back and look at it and decide what you think. Personally, I think it would look good (I'm currently using a King comforter on a Queen bed). . . but for me, if the bedding hangs over too far then it seems heavy and feels like it's holding my feet down against the bed. Also, if it hangs too far off the foot of the bed, in my experience, just the weight of it drags the whole blanket/comforter/sheet/whatever off the foot of the bed as I sleep....See MoreWould it look odd....
Comments (7)With the right color, it will look great. Color is better than white in this case, IMO......the only reason it came white is that the store needs something generic to sell. Right color == a rich deep shade that picks up other colors you have going on....See MoreWould this look odd?
Comments (6)You can certainly put a plant there. If this is right near an entry, get a small side table with drawers so people can sit and put their stuff down temporarily when they come in. Keep note of what your needs are in this space. Put a tray on top of the table to be a "landing zone" for keys and mail. I agree with putting a lamp here....See Morewindymess z6a KC, Ks
