We had a similar situation and wanted to hide all of our electrical cords, so purchased an Ashley Furniture Glen Eagle Accent Cabinet that worked beautifully. You can "Google" and see what it looks like. (I had trouble posting the pic.) Even though Ashley Furniture is not considered by many to be one of your better furniture dealers, for something like this, that you are going to use for storage and to house your cell phone chargers, etc., this is perfect. And it really is a nice-looking piece that complements our other furniture. I can't remember exactly what we paid for it, but it was around $300, has lots of storage space. If that doesn't interest you, Overstock.com has a wide array of accent tables and consoles, many for $200 or less, and you can't beat their shipping charge of $2.95. Good luck!

AFAIK, there are no hard-set rules about this. It is pretty much up to you, as to what you think would like nice. The lengths of mine for the DR are all over the map. I have one that hangs over the ends of the DR table, but can't use it when I've got people seated all around and on the ends. Then I use one that ends short of a person's place setting. Sometimes I use a square antique bridge table cloth "on point" in the middle of our DR table as an accent. Go with what makes you happy. JMHO

You may prefer one view in the elevation and then find out that it does not work in the floor plan. It is critical to check the amount of space you have for the hallway to the left. I would prefer the console to be centered on the wall instead of off to the right as illustrated. Can you provide the measurement between the console wall and the wall in front of it to the left? If it is 4 feet or more, there should be no problem with the wider console.

Shirley, I probably found the lamp on Wayfair by filtering for buffet lamps. That said, I don't know what exact size you need, but you can figure it by measuring from the top of your console to a point about 3/4 the height of the mirror and look at buffet lamps that are close to that measurement. Then put something shorter and squatter on the other side to balance the lamp.
